The depot roof is a dormant asset sitting directly above your demand.
AI Edge (UK) Ltd help UK businesses navigate solar PV and battery storage independently, and describe their role as helping organisations explore the options “in a clear and considered way”. Their own line is “Lower bills today. Net Zero tomorrow.”
This is the longest and largest of the three levers: a capital project with a typical delivery timeline of six to nine months. We would rather put that timeline in front of you now than discover it halfway through.

An independent guide through solar, storage and the grid connection question.
AI Edge (UK) Ltd was founded by Tony Jain, Director, whose background spans procurement, supply chain and business development. They advise commercial and industrial clients on solar PV, battery storage and power purchase agreements.
Solar PV on commercial roofs
Assessment of roof area, orientation, structure and demand profile, then options for generating on site rather than buying every unit from the grid.
Battery storage
Storing generation and cheap off-peak power so the site draws less during expensive periods, and so a solar system is not wasted on a quiet afternoon.
Grid connection strategy
AI Edge write about the grid being the real bottleneck, and about structuring projects around constraint risk rather than assuming capacity will be there.
Power purchase agreements
PPAs are one of the routes they advise on. CouriersDepot has no role in structuring, arranging or advising on any of it.
A defined process
A published 10-step engagement process beginning with an expression of interest and a suitability assessment, with a typical 6–9 month delivery timeline.
Independent positioning
They present themselves as helping organisations explore options in a clear and considered way, rather than as a single-product installer.

Warehouses have the best solar profile in British business, and most of them are not using it.
A distribution centre has a large unshaded roof and consumes most of its power in daylight — chillers, materials handling charging, lighting, compressors, offices. That match between generation and demand is what makes a logistics site a better candidate than most offices or retail units.
Add battery storage and the shape of the bill changes as well as the volume: load moves off peak pricing, and the site starts to build the headroom it will need as vans and then trucks electrify. Depot charging capacity is the constraint most fleets will meet next, and it is cheaper to think about it while the roof is being planned than afterwards.
- Owned or long-leased sites firstA capital project needs a lease long enough to justify it, or a landlord willing to engage. If you neither own nor lease a site, this lever is not for you yet.
- The grid is the hard partAI Edge's own writing is blunt about connection constraints. Expect that conversation early rather than late.
- Longest journey of the threeSix to nine months is a process, not a delay — suitability, design, connection, procurement and delivery each take real time.
A published 10-step process, and a six to nine month timeline we are not hiding.
AI Edge's engagement process begins with an expression of interest and a suitability assessment. The length of it is evidence of proper process — grid applications, structural checks, design and procurement cannot be rushed responsibly.

Expression of interest.
You register interest and share the basics about the site. This is the point our introduction ends and AI Edge's process begins.
Suitability assessment.
Roof, structure, demand profile, tenure and grid position are assessed before anyone talks about equipment.
Then the remaining steps, with them.
Design, connection strategy, commercial structure and delivery run through AI Edge's published process on their timescales, typically six to nine months in total.
CouriersDepot.com does not arrange finance, does not advise on power purchase agreements, and quotes no returns. Any figures in your project come from AI Edge and their supply chain.

Solar & battery enquiry
Lever 3 · AI EdgeYour details are passed to AI Edge (UK) Ltd so they can contact you about a suitability assessment for solar PV and battery storage.
Submitting this form asks CouriersDepot.com to pass your details to AI Edge (UK) Ltd. Any advice, modelling, quotation, finance, power purchase agreement, contract or decision to proceed is a matter between you and AI Edge. We provide no financial or energy advice, arrange no finance, quote no returns and guarantee no savings.
The roof is already there. The question is whether it should be working.
Start with a suitability assessment. If the site does not suit it, you will find out early and cheaply.
